Meet Kai Stoudemire-Williams, the visionary force behind HyperFarm. With an unwavering commitment, Kai ignites change by bridging the gap to fresh, healthy, and locally sourced food for BIPOC communities.
As a dedicated wife, nurturing mother, and tenacious entrepreneur, Kai's journey began amidst the challenges of a food-insecure neighborhood. The realization that her family, like many others, faced arduous journeys for nourishment ignited her passion for transforming this narrative. Fueled by the belief in a better way, Kai embarked on a mission to redefine access to food, driven by a fierce determination to ensure that every table is graced with the goodness of locally grown produce.
Bridging the Food Gap: The Visionary Behind HyperFarm
At HyperFarm, we envision a future where sustainable nourishment flourishes, communities thrive, and the seeds of positive change are sown through innovative, locally sourced farming.
Kai is the daughter of African American and Native American parents and grandparents, whose family history is deeply rooted in agriculture.
She is re-establishing her family’s rich agricultural legacy after a 24 year hiatus as a 4th generation farmer, food activist and mother based in Greenwood, SC. After 11 years in Corporate America, Kai has now committed fully to operating her independent farm, HyperFarm, which she founded 2020 - in response to national food shortages caused by COVID- 19.
HyperFarm, exists to provide access to fresh local food to families and individuals who live in food insecure neighborhoods - with a focus on BIPOC.
Sustainability in every sprout
We care about our planet. It's the only one we've got. That's why we created a more sustainble way to farm using 100% renewable energy and 97% less water consumption than a tradional farm producing a similar quantity of produce.
Community
Locally grown food creates important ecomomic opportunities, provides health benefits and helps to reduce environmental impact. It also helps bring the community together and gives people the opportunity to make a difference. It supports community economics and building relationships with local food producers.
Education
We are growing the next generation of hyper local farmers. We want to equip young BIPOC with the tools to grow their own food. We offer Farm Tours, internship opportunities, and a summer intensive program for local youth + families.
